How to: Link information between documents.
Solution:
In the source document, select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Copy'. In the destination document, select the 'Edit' menu, select 'Paste Special...', and select the 'Paste link' radio button.
1) Double-click the source application. (The source application opens.)
2) Select the data you want to link.
3) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Copy'. (The data is saved to the clipboard.)
4) Double-click the destination application. (The destination application opens.)
5) Click where you want the linked data to appear.
6) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Paste Special...'. (The 'Paste Special' dialog box appears.)
'Paste Special' dialog box
NOTE: If 'Paste Special...' does not exist on the 'Edit' menu, the application either does not support linking or it uses a non-standard command to initiate linking.
7) From the 'As' list box, select the data format you want to use to import the data.
8) Select the 'Paste link' radio button.
9) Click 'OK'.
NOTE: If the 'Paste link' radio button is dimmed, the source application probably does not support linking.
